Director/Writer/Producer
Arun Singh received a Masters degree in Chemistry from Delhi University and began his career as a chemist. After coming to the U.S. writing, which was his part-time hobby, became fully active. While working on his novel, he also wrote two screenplays and consulted on various projects. Experiencing the harsh reality of what most writers go through, he decided to become a filmmaker. He studied filmmaking at the New York Film Academy and attended screenplay writing classes at the famous Gotham Writers' Workshop in New York. "1001 Auditions" is his first short film that he wrote, directed, and produced.

Actor/Producer
Pooja Kumar plays the main character in 1001 Auditions and is also the producer of the film. Born in St. Louis, Missouri she gave her first dance performance at the age of 1 at the India Night function. After winning Miss India U.S.A., she was selected by Amitabh Bachchan Corporation and went to Mumbai, India, wherein she hosted the Miss World Pageant in Bangalore and acted in a feature film: “Kaadhal Rojave.” During her brief stay, she worked for Channel V and hosted numerous TV programs. She came back to the U.S. to complete her bachelors from Washington University of St. Louis. She then moved to New York and studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and attended various acting workshops. Since then she has acted in feature films such as: “Flavors”, “Night of Henna”, “Hiding Divya”, “Park Shark Chronicles”, and “Knots Urbane.” Her role in “Flavors” earned her the Screen Actors Guild Emerging Actor Award and her performance in “Night of Henna” was widely appreciated by critic A. O. Scott from the NY Times. She has been in major ad campaigns for Pepsi, Budweiser, AOL, Verizon, Bombay Dreams, Pearl Vision, and Dodge.

Cinematographer
Dane Lawing learned the multi-facets of production while a Broadcast art director in the New York Advertising Agency world. After becoming a Director of Photography, he found his creative and client side experiences an asset. His film for academy award winner Jim Taylor was one of the first films photographed with the viper camera. He has lensed for commercials such as Ralph Lauren, Nickelodeon, PBS, MTV, BBC, Oxygen, Microsoft, and many more.

Editor
Sujit Agrawal is an award-winning editor with more than ten years of experience editing international TV shows, music videos, feature films, and more. His numerous honors include six Telly Awards for Best Editing in commercials, corporate films, and TV programs; the Promax Asia Gold and Silver Awards; and one his best accomplishments for the Filmfare Award for Best Editing for the feature film, "Satya." produced and directed by Ram Gopal Verma. With expertise in multiple types of editing software, Sujit has worked as Senior Editor at Macmillan Adam Productions, Chief Editor at Rahbani Productions, as well as a range of editing positions at world-renowned production houses and studios.

Production Manager/1st Assistant Director
Holly A. Simpson is a Montrealer who currently lives in New York City. She has worked behind the scenes in film, tv and theatre for more than 10 years. In 2005, she was the festival director for the South Asian International Film Festival in New York. She is currently working on her first feature documentary film.

Script Supervisor
Carole Ryavec’s writing credits include “Venus Retrograde”, winner: of the emerging narrative IFP market in 2005 and quarterfinalist for Scriptapalooza, Some of her other scripts include: Chef’s Special”, “Hollywood Breaks”, and “Fortune”.

Sound Designer/Music
Alex Leu graduated from music school and started playing electric guitar while learning music composition. His passion for technology contributed to his success as a producer and recording engineer. In 2003 he moved to New York City to continue his study of music and audio technology. Alex has worked as a film composer, sound editor/designer and sound mixer.

Additional Composition By
Rohan has spent the last several years honing his skills as an artist and producer in the New York City area. After attending Columbia Law School, he found commercial success in the last several years in the licensing of his original spin on Asian Underground/Fusion music to various international record companies and has scored original music for several television programs and films.

CAST:

MeeraPooja Kumar has numerous years of experience in Film and Television and 1001 Auditions is her first production.

Tina - Hogan Gorman has worked extensively in film, theater and commercials and is currently developing a one woman show based on her life.

Tim - Tim Barker’s credits include commercial work with Dick Van Dyke, singing and dancing on stage with Liza Minelli, Shakespeare Festivals in Canada, Oregon, playing a cop on Law an Order, and doing voice-over work on radio and TV.

Tory - Holly Simpson is multi faceted. She was the Production Manager, 1st Assistant Director, and played a role in the film.

Priya - Amnik Sandhu has worked extensively in Bollywood. Her movies include Ketha Hai Dil Baar Baar, Shaadi Karke Phase Gaya Yaar, Khel Shuru and Knots Urbane.

CK - Bittou Walia is known for numerous film such as Pehchaan, Encounter, Ah Abh Laut Chalen, G-Spot, Sopranos, What Are Women Like in America, and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Indian Casting Director - Ron Shah’s projects include RBC Radio, the nation’s longest running South Asian radio station, and the independent film ‘Guiana 1838’, a record breaking film based on the history of South Asians on the Island of Guyana. “1001 Auditions” is Ron’s debut film performance.

Chris - Debora Rabbai is the co-creator and performer in the MAC nominated and critically acclaimed show "The Next Big Broadway Musical" an improvised musical comedy.

Young MeeraZoey Lawing is 8 years old and lives in New York City.
